Answer» With IE6 I could scroll to a toolbar for EDITING. I could edit a document with EITHER Excel or Word. In IE7 in the File toolbar it allows me to edit with Excel only. How can I get an option to edit it with Word??
PeterGo to Tools, Internet Options, Programs, and click on the drop arrow to display the list of options for HTML editor. If Word is listed, select it, click Apply and OK.Thanks that works! However, not WANTING to sound greedy, if the document I have opened needs to be edited how can I get Excel for use in editing? Do I need to open the options folder again and everytime I need to change the editing "tool"?
PeterI suspect multiple ways of editing a web page can be added to the IE7 Page menu so that you do not need to go to Tool, Internet Options, ..., and change the PROGRAM, by editing Windows Registry. But, I have not found a reference on how to do that. You might Google for something. Here is one thing I found which talks about a Registry entry, but I don't know whether this particular reference can be applied to Win XP and IE7: Internet Explorer Client Registry Layout
If you're not familiar with editing of the Registry, be very careful. The wrong move can cause major problems with your COMPUTER.
