I'm not even sure if i'm in the right place.

I have a game Elf Bowling 7 the last insult. Worked fine for years all of sudden
it quit working, don't know when, don't know why.

It gives a bass_fx.dll error saying it's corrupt, wrong version, or missing, error 998.

I contacted oberon media who gave me a NEW download file and register key,i did all that but still have the same error. I looked in the files, and there is a bass_fx.dll of the right size in the folder.

I don't know anything about these files, and i don't know if it's missing from somewhere else or what.

any ideas or thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I really don't know what's causing this but you could USE Revo to remove every thing from the game and then try to reinstall it, I suggest you backup your saved data FIRST.

Other then that I can only suggest you do a full system scan for virus, I don't think you will find anything but I never had any errors like that.You MIGHT try here

I'm wondering if this could be a registry thing? I never work with the registry
except when i use CC cleaner.

If it could be a registry thing is there any program out there which is GOOD enough
to detect and fix?
