Solve : emulate dual shock controller? |
|
Answer» i recently downloaded epsxe so that i wouldnt have to dig out my old play station to play my games, and a couple games require dual shock controllers and i cant figure out how to emulate it with the keyboard, can some one help me? i beleive i am using version 1.70 of epsxe, if you need any more info i will edit ini know this is going to sound stupid but: Download and use xpadder brilliant software.this is exactly opiset of what is neededQuote from: smeezekitty on August 27, 2009, 10:28:36 PM this is exactly opiset of what is needed If you have nothing useful to say then say nothing at all..Can you change the games settings over to keyboard then set your own keys? Sorry your original MESSAGE was not clear yeah, but when you choose the joystick buttons and press the key you want to set it to nothing happens, basically i dont want to buy an adapter i just want to use the keyboard instead of the controller...As far as I am aware, you can't do this. They include the analog sticks in their OPTIONS, but there isn't a way to map them (unless they've updated it). PCSX claims that you can map analog controls to the keyboard, but the program is only compatible with a few games. There's a very high chance that your game won't work with it. And even if it did, from what I've heard, it usually crashes when loading games, especially those that use dual-analog. So far, all programs have pretty much failed when attempting to emulate the analog sticks. Even if they could pull it off, it still wouldn't work very well because you can go many directions, but on a keyboard, you can only get 8 directions at most. This greatly reduces your accuracy. But I guess it doesn't matter much because there doesn't appear to be any emulator that has succeeded in mapper the keyboard for analog anyway. And most PlayStation emulation projects have been dumped because they're working on PS2 instead. Really, I think your best bet is to either get an adapter like this one (you can get them cheap on eBay) or pay about the same amount for a PC dual-analog controller. Or you could just hook up your PlayStation, which I personally think would be more enjoyable. I know these aren't what you want, but there isn't much that can be done.yeah i will probably just get an adapter cause i cant bring my playstation out and leave it there so it would be ANNOYING every day going to dig it out, and hey, i can play some fpses (i like controller better then mouse) with software mulreay showed me so umm thanks all! Edit: hey mulreay, xpadder might offer a soultion! i found an old joystick on one of my shelves a week or 2 ago and i just got an idea, why not just use xpadder, the joystick is real funky, it has like to sticks on it and enough buttons that i should be able to emulate a dual shock controller! thanks a TON!No problem glad to help Heh, a joystick is more fun than a regular controller anyway. I'm glad you found a solution. |
