Solve : error with battlefield 2 - invalid cd key?

I have the battlefield 2 pack which comes with battlefield 2 and battlefield 2 special forces in one box. The keys worked fine before. But I have now SWITCHED a 8500GT in my system to a 9500GT and single mode works fine. When I LOG in to play multiplayer online, always getting cd key is invalid error.

Should I reinstall? I have latest patch installed already....

Windows Vista ULTIMATE 32 bit
2.7 gb DDR ram (1x512mb, 2x1gb)

I have 2 optical DRIVES (dvd +*-rw) only one is currently connected

Hipro 300W PSU with 19A on 12V rail

Thanks Carbon. I found out the PROBLEM, I went to the registry (regedit) and looked at the key and changed the garbled junk to the cd key and it works now. garbled junk replaced cdkey values as result of patch update.

reinstall would have been okay but by fixing in registry, no reinstallation was required, would've taken longer but i had no saved game anyway.Interesting.....OK then.
