Answer» Hello: I used firefox happily for years, but in the past few months, whenever I open more than say five tabs in Firefox, I get this: Sorry, Firefox has encountered a problem and has to close message. In my work I often need to have multiple windows or tabs open, viewing resources that I USE for developing university classes. Then, right when I have everything all lined up and ready to go, there goes firefox! Then if I start it up again, I get a message: This is embarrassing, there is a problem reloading some of the windows, and a list of windows and tabs COME for me to choose from and x some so that Firefox can start up again. It wasn't always this way, Firefox used to be such a breeze to use. Now I have to revert to IE which is just no fun!
Can you help please? Thanks
DrDIt sounds like you need to reinstall Firefox anyway, so why not go the latest version which is ver 3.6?When you uninstall it, make sure, all FF traces are gone: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_FirefoxHello Mr. Broni: I'm so glad to see you here. You have always helped me so much with any problem I've had, and I've had some problems! A question: If I uninstall in this way, all traces, will I lose the info in my Zotero? I have an entire year or so of a collection of research paper and resources in there. In fact it's one of the MAIN reasons I use Firefox. If I uninstall Firefox USING the program you provided the link for, will I use my Zotero?
Thanks!
Dr. D.I'm not familiar with Zotero, but I just read a little about it and assume, it stores its DATA somewhere. If you backup that data, it should be available, when you reinstall Firefox and Zotero add-on.
To make it double safe, use Mozbackup to backup all of your data: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
I can see, they have a forum here: http://forums.zotero.org/categories/ Ask people there.
Thank you, Broni. Will do.
