Solve : Firefox 7.0?

Answer»

Firefox displayed update notice, so said OK, do Update.  Went from 6.02 to 7.0.  It looks the same to me.
This is one difference they claim:  http://www.techspot.com/news/45638-mozilla-releases-firefox-70-improves-memory-usage.html

This computer is using WinXP-32bit w/ 2GB RAM, not sure I would notice any memory issues. Quote from: Computer_Commando on September 27, 2011, 05:01:55 PM

When you CHANGE the insides, nobody notices.I meant it as a good thing, not a bad thing.  I want it to look the same. Quote from: Computer_Commando on September 27, 2011, 05:57:33 PM

Either way, I can't pass up an opportunity to link the Old New Thing  Apparently Firefox 3.6 is still alive and running.

is the old version still any worthwhile using, or why it got updated? For a single change there was no need to bring it to version 7. It could have went to 6.1. What are they up to? Quote from: 2x3i5x on September 27, 2011, 11:17:07 PM

If you like it, then it's still WORTH using.  Of course, Mozilla tries to lead you to the latest version, 7.0.  But still, they just released 3.6.23 yesterday.

Do you mean why did they not stay with the OLDER browser design?  Probably because they think the new design will keep them more competitive with Google's Chrome.  That's my guess.

MS still updates older VERSIONS of windows well after the release of their successors. (Service packs and whatnot) I SUPPOSE  this is pretty much the same idea.
