Examples are: In Local disk (C:)Standard floppy disk controller, and standard floppy disk controller #1, VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller, with #1, & #2, Similar things like that in the Program Files area as well.

I have no idea how they got there.

If those are files leave them for now...right CLICK them and select Properties.
If those are actual devices and they are showing up where you say they are the machine needs attention.
Devices should not be LISTED in Programs.
