The process requires you download two software programs...along with the iconpack, but if you follow the directions...you'll have your default icons changed in no time.
Have you ever run across a situation where Windows has replaced your Firefox default HTML DOCUMENT icon (saved to your desktop)?
One of the software packages the above tutorial requires you to download is a SHAREWARE program called ItweakU. This program allows you to restore the default desktop icons with the click of a button.
A very handy tool...and highly recommended by me.
