Solve : Firefox/StumbleUpon password query?

Answer»

For over a year now I have had Firefox's excellent StumbleUpon add-on (is that the right term?) with direct access via the SU toolbar (which appears with Firefox opening page) with no problem. A couple of weeks ago the toolbar options changed from it's usual collection of options to just two - "Start Stumbling... or Sign In", the first to start a new account and the second to sign in with user name and password. Things are ok once you're signed in for that session, but it's a BIT of a chore to do every TIME - there seems to be no "Save Password?" option available. I can't figure out why or how things have changed. Can I get round this somehow? I have queried Firefox, but no reply
.The team behind Firefox will you not be able to give you much support. The Stumbleupon add-on is created and maintained by Stumbleupon.
But you should be able to configure the toolbar to stay logged in.
On the toolbar click Tools and click Sign-In...
Fill in your username and password.
Make sure the box next to "Sign-out when I close the browser" is unchecked and press OK.

Then the toolbar should stay logged in.Thanks for reply Deerpark.

I have re-signed in several times over the last couple of weeks now, and have made sure that the "sign out" box is unchecked every time - it seems to be ok if I come back to Firefox/SU within a reasonably short time (a day, say), but longer than that and it reverts back to the minimal toolbar. I wonder if there is a default setting after a certain period. I also wonder why there is no remember password option for this on Firefox. As far as I know the built in remember password feature in Firefox is only for websites not for add-ons. The creator of the add-on will have to create a password remembering feature if one is required.
I've not used stumbleupon for a while and have just now reinstalled the toolbar to TEST out what you said. So I can't comment on whether you getting logged out is a bug or a feature. I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the PLUGIN and see if that helps.

I'll try and keep it running to see if I get logged out as well. Thanks again Deerpark.

I see what you mean about websites/add-ons - it's no real hardship, just slightly annoying. I'll persevere for the time being and maybe try SU forum pages.
