Answer» Okay, I'm running an e-machine T3092 with 1GB RAM and a geforce 6200 video card. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on it with FF 18.0.1 and Chrome 24.0.1312.57.
Now with Chrome it's easy, anything with FLASH and a bar pops up saying Could Not LOAD Shockwave Flash. It's been enabled in the plugins.
With FF I get nothing, not even a placeholder TELLING me to get Flash.
I've reinstalled Flash, gnash, Lightspark and Flashaid, all to no avail. For Java I've installed Iced Tea, and no joy with it either. This is just an update.
I have Iced Tea working and now have Java in FF and Chrome. I've still not been able to get anywhere with Flash.Update 2.
I have Flash working now, and Java. It sure took a while. There is still one site that I have difficulties with though.
http://www.battlecam.com
It shows me the Flash placeholder and just tells me that I need to INSTALL Flash. Which of course is already installed. I'm wondering if the site uses HTML 5 at all in it's streaming content.
In Chrome it still tells me that it can't load the plugin - I'm not too WORRIED about that though, I really don't like Chrome.
