Just recently a game I've played for awhile called Shaiya has begun closing for no reason after I click the Start button on the launcher. It is a private server that I play on that closes, along with another pserver I've tried. The retail version plays just fine. Like I said, I've played this before until I took a couple days break, where I returned to an update. After the update, that's when the problem occurred. What usually happens when I click the start button is a new window pops up and then proceeds to the log-in screen. Now, when the window pops up, my cursor changes to the one for the game, but the window closes without an error message. I've reinstalled the game, restarted my computer, and updated my drivers, still nothing. My system matches the system requirements for the game. Other people can still play, so I know it's not the server itself. I noticed when the game window isn't "selected" but rather I'm on something else, for ex. firefox or even clicked on my desktop, the game proceeds to the log-in screen, but when I click back to the game on my taskbar, it closes.

I honestly don't know much about computers in general, so I could be at fault, but I havn't changed/done anything that I can think of to effect the game. I can play other games just fine, like an Aion pserver. Also, I know my computer is nothing special, but it played and still plays games fine.

Any idea what's wrong?

Sounds like a client/server version mismatch caused by latest patch that is causing this crash. You need to run the version you had prior to match up to the server for it to start correctly.

If this game is one that you are suppose to pay to play and private servers are illegal for this game, no further assistance can be given.
