Answer» I have a brand new PC game which I DOWNLOADED. I can GET to the menu page, but once I click start and the loading page appears and it will load half way and then stop. I can hear the game going in the background and if I click somewhere I can hear the the game working. Only problem is I'm still stuck on the loading page and cant see the game. Ive noticed that the game intro is extremely laggy, but I don't know what to make of that. I have used games from the same maker that worked fine. I tried lowering the game resolution but the same thing happened. Please help me!!!What game is this? Its actually only a game demo. Its the the demo for the new game Empire Total War. But since its only a demo I fear I will have the same problem when the actual game is released. (although I have had similar problems with other games) Computer specs please.
Operating System RAM Processor (+ speed) Free Hard Drive space Hard Drive capacity
If this is a prebuilt computer, please provide it's manufacturer and model number.Operating System: Windows XP Professional, version 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp.080413-2111 : Service Pack 3) RAM: 1.00GB of RAM Processor (+ speed): Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz 3.39GHz Free Hard Drive space: 87.5 GB Hard Drive capacity: 149 GB
Dell is the manufacturer and its a DIMENSION 8400
The computer seems perfectly capable of RUNNING the game.
You MENTIONED this happened with other games too? What games?
Also, when did this all happen? The same thing happened with Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Knights of the old Republic 2. I have Call of Duty 4, and Medieval 2 Total War which both run perfect. I downloaded the Demo for Empire Total War two days ago on the 20th, and as soon as I downloaded it I got the problem, never got past the menu. Same for the other games that never worked which I downloaded over a year ago.I'm actually not so sure what's wrong. This problem sounds exactly the same as what my friend has, and I haven't been able to solve it.
Are there any error messages at all? There is no error message.
I was wondering if my graphics card has anything to do with it. I have a ATI RADEON X300/X550/X1050 Series card. Quote from: classicgk37 on February 22, 2009, 08:40:11 AM There is no error message.

Those cards might just not cut it.
M2TW might run fine, but a newer Total War game...hmm.
i know my friend runs MTW on a x600 with lagg when facing massive armies.
