Answer» Ok. I'm back Have you tried both the memory tester (the second one) and configuring the BIOS as shown if another forum? Also, can I get a link to this forum to see what exactly what ritual they have you attempting?
[glb]Flame[/glb]http://www.mersenneforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=37 = for the Q + A for one of the memory testers.
I ran the other memory tester just now, and encountered about 140+ errors on what seems to be one 256mb stick. So I'm gonna take one of the two out, run the test again and see what happens. It seems the problem might be faulty memory afterall.
Also, will check if I have latest bios update.Okay, I frequently get these (http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/dark_guy1000/CIMG0441.jpg) multi-coloured lines down my screen too after I start up. But they seem to disappear after using the pc for a bit, or after I scandisk and defrag the pc.
One of the memory testers (MEMTEST) I have runs a total of 9 tests, and when I ran the full 9, I got many errors in test 8, but none in the others.
So, one stick at a time I ran the 8th test on the same slot [first one], and no errors were found. However, I then put one stick in the first slot and one stick in the second, and errors appeared. I also changed the stick I put in the second slot for the one remaining memory stick, and the same thing occured, errors sprung up.
I'm a bit confused here, and wondering if perhaps something's wrong with the motherboard's memory SLOTS? Since testing them individually yielded no errors, but combination testing gave errors.
I've tried playing the games without the case.. and while things seemed to very slightly ease-up considering the slowdown in framerate, it still restarted at around the same time.
To play one of the two games, I had to upgrade my video card, and in doing so, leech more power off the power supply as this new VID card needed its own power source, unlike the other, which didn't need one at all.
I'll attempt to play red alert 2 tommorow for as long as I can using an older graphics card, with the same memory. If this works, it might be a faulty graphics card, ALTHOUGH the memory tester still showed errors.. which gets me a bit worried.
