Solve : Games Minimize Randomly?

Answer»

I have this problem where whenever I'm playing a video game it randomly minimizes itself and takes me to the desktop.  I have no idea what causes it.  It has happened for a long time.  It didn't bother me much before because I rarely played games on the computer but it's getting very annoying.  Any ideas what could be causing this?It sounds like a program running in the background that really likes your attention. What do you have in the background?just like neil said, there are some programs that like your attention and will minimize your game.

my software firewall will minimize everything so that i may view a warning about a program trying to connect to the internet.Stop hitting your Windows Start key, duh

If you have antivirus software that does realtime scanning and updates, it may be causing your games to minimize (when the software updates or something)...I have the same problem... not OFTEN mind you but if still happens ( i notice cus i PLAY games a lot  ) its generally just my AV wanting confirmation of something... but it was at one point Instant messengers being angry at being ignored   , MSN was the main culprit... i just got rid of it... have you got any thing like that happening in the background?BladeWolf, is that you?
You meaning the person who I think it is
A little late perhaps, but the OP is MIA anyway.Yes it me Cal... and

did u FIND out what the problem was? Quote

Hardly good advice. I'll have you know that that same issue will happen to me, though a lot less often, and I almost never use the win key, and never unintentionally. Please, remember that although the answer may be simple, the patently obvious has probably already been tried. Let's credit the OP with a minimum of benefit of the doubt. Quote

Which ones?  The OP's problem?  No, because they never posted back.I had a key accidentally bound in-game to minimize my window  [smiley=embarassed.gif] and everytime I tried to put up a defensive STANCE... I found myself wideyed at my desktop.Hmm troubling, this problem is... anyone got anymore suggestions for pobastedNo point . . . he's MIA.
AWOL.
However you want to put it, he is not here.I have the same annoyance.  But I don't know what I have running in the background that might be causing it.  I have so many running processes, which makes it hard for me to PINPOINT who the culprit is.
