Answer» I have a dell Dimension 2350 thats networked to a Dell Dimension 4100 an shares its internet connection. EVERY know an again when I'm doing other things for a while not real long periods of time. The internet will try an dial up when I was connected then I tell it to work off line and I end up having to connect again. Also, I recently scaned the machine an removed all the junk. There is NOTHING open on the 4100 just the network connection.Help, Its still occuringIs this a new problem? Does this only happen when you're not actively using your internet connection? No just when every Im connectedYou will have to rephrase that answer, because I can't understand what you're saying there.Well when I connected the dial up connection for the 2350 comes up, its not set to auto connect. Its SUPPOSED to dial up if there is no network present. However it is being connected threw a network. I end up loosing my connection comes up an I cancel it. How ever I just ingore it but while I'm doing other work its really annoing. So you say you LOOSE your internet connection because the 2350 tries to dial up while connected to the internet through the 4100?Yes, but it doesnt make sense why its doing it.Why don't you just stop it from using the dial up connection. In the control panel select Internet Options. Select the Connections tab. Set it to NEVER dial a connection.
I gusse that would be the easiest thing to do, wanted to have all my connections active thought in case it gets moved.
