Solve : Google updates?

Answer»

I'm certain I read a post 6hrs ago about the google update service/s
Can't find it now,
I noticed that one of the google updates is set to run every 15minutes -
Is That REALLY necessary?
I think I discovered how to adjust it,
But THOUGHT I should find out a little more first,
I would just like a guide to setting new 'rules' for the updater

Thanks.
Thanks for being HEREUpdates to specifically what? Google Software Updater,
GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore,
GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA,
GoogleUpdateTaskUserS-1-5-21-1611545731-1282709027-4163699891-1003Core,
GoogleUpdateTaskUserS-1-5-21-1611545731-1282709027-4163699891-1003UA,

Is this the type of info you are asking about?

Only have Chrome and Earth installed - but what would I know

ThanksOK, I guess that's helpful but I can't help SINCE I only use Google for searches, maps, and gmail.  Therefore, I have no need for "Google updates".

But, stay tuned.  Someone else will probably have some suggestions for you.All the google update tool is manages installed google applications and keeping them up to date.
Why? Is it causing problems?I've got the Google toolbar, although I don't ALWAYS have it turned on, and I get occasional updates for it, but only at most once a week, if that.

I also use usually Google for searches and have gmail as a back up email account, and don't remember ever seeing updates for them.

Updates every 15 minutes would be excessive for anything except CNN, some weather sites or PGAtour type services or sites. Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on July 31, 2010, 09:14:16 AM

It runs automatically through the TASK Scheduler,
Is set to start every day, and run every 15minutes

Thanks for replies :-)Chrome Frame now also integrates with IE more closely, meaning that the add-on now works with IE’s InPrivate browsing mode, and that clearing cookies and cache in IE will now also clear out the same elements in Chrome Frame.
