Answer» Happy HOLS people. I would add more RAM. Your RAM only meets the minimum requirements. I have one gig and it's just a bit choppy (might be video card drivers though). So try putting more RAM in there. (Make sure your computer can handle more RAM before adding more). Your video card is fine. I have a 256 MB card myself. Flame, I know a few that still run 1 gig and even with 6800 ultras, newest drivers, etc. they still have choppy gameplay.Go to your local computer center and talk to a technician there about obtaining your type of RAM. Tadracket: That could depend on MANY things.. Virus/Spyware infections, background processes, virus scanners, firewalls, etc. I MIGHT have the choppy problem becuase (1) video drivers or (2) I still run antivirus and my firewall program while playing (says not to) [glb]Flame[/glb]I have a Windows box with a Sempron 2600, 512 RAM and a FX5200 video card. I know it's not state of the art but it works GREAT for this, except on high DETAIL, which I don't need to spend $500 more on to improve. Yes, Doom3 works great as well. And this isn't even a 64 bit chip! More RAM may help your situation.Flame, good luck to you. I hope it is an easy fix. |
