Solve : Guild wars freezes while playing?

Answer»

Whenever im playin Guild Wars, my comp reboots or the game says that a problem has occured while trying to RUN the game, please helpWhat are your system specs, and what are the game's requirements?

[glb]Flame[/glb]first of all, IM A SUPER NOOB with computers so im gonna try my best to let u know whats goin on.

game specs;
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Intel Pentium 3 800 Mhz or equivilant
256 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 8500 or Geforce 3 or 4 MX Series with 32 MB of VRAM
16 bit SOund card

my specs(i think)
Windows Xp
Radeon 9200 SE
AMD Athlon 1.7 procccessor ( i think)
All drivers are in and i think it might be the power supply because my comp has a power strip in the back of it and i had my fan, my printer and my stereo plugged, YES IM A SUPER NOOB, i dont know if it could be that so....Here are some possibilities... (1) Try updating your video card drivers... (2) Check your fans and heatsink... Your computer might be overheating... (3) Scan for viruses...

[glb]Flame[/glb]Find a dedicated Guild Wars forum.okeyday, ill try those things. It happened again like just 5 minutes ago, and when i logged in there was an error report syaing that there are problems with folders
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini061205-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\ADMIN~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
Now i dont know what that is but if u could let me know , that would be greatStrange... Can't seem to find that on the web easily...

[glb]Flame[/glb]I have Guild Wars too Greg, I get a different error then yours called "Error 7". The Guild Wars tech SUPPORT has failed to help me solve the problem, so I pretty much quit on that game.. I wasted 40 bucks on that stupid game for nothing.yah i came to the post the same lame problem.... after of about 5 minutes or less PLAYING the game, my computer restarts, and the same error pops up. im pretty sure everything is COMPATIBLE, and others who have encountered the same problem during other games said it was the power supply or ram.512 should be fine i believe . i guess i have to go out and buy a new powersupply with only hope guiding me.Has anyone tried running this game in 'compatability mode'?lol.. This game is compatible for XP Fed.. Oh and don't bother installing new stuff for your computer, it is not your comp's fault! Don't bother with GW's tech support either.. they don't do anything..LOL, I've gotta learn to read the screen

ive changed my mind about the powersupply being the problem.. im just gonna upgrade my videocard to a ati 9600 and see if it will help and if it doesnt i guess oh well cus it was for free ...but i just want to play the *censored* game with my friends. i think it could be overheating my computer..with an onboard geforce4 videocard and all, im thinking about getting a case that will be alittle more cooling too. i know my computer ISNT the greatest but it isnt a piece of s*** either so i know theres something not right with the game (scaning through the system requirements), but that doesnt erase the craving to play the game.ive changed my mind about getting a new powersupply....i decided to upgrade my video card to an ati 9600 and if gw still doesnt work then oh well cus ithe vcard was for free... but i just want to play the *censored* game with my friends. i think it could be overheating my computer with an onboard geforce4 and all, so later on i was just thinking about getting a new case with better cooling anyways. i know my computer isnt the greatest and isnt a piece of s*** either and i know theres got to be something wrong with the game (scaning throught the system requirements), but that doesnt erase the craving to play the game. im just looking if anyone solved the problem without a price to pay.oh ive tried compatability mode...still shuts down
