Solve : Halo 1 PC and bsod?

I can not GET my halo1 to run on my desktop. Main menu comes up but As soon as I HIT play
I get the BSOD.
WIN 98se
1.7 g
128 meg vid

Anyone ever heard of this and know the fix?

Need to know the exact ERROR message.It woul also help if you told us your actual video card and your CPU model.I had this problem a long time ago... don't know if it's relevant, but I fixed it with dxdiag...

I sincerely doubt that.
Just RUNNING DxDiag does nothing. It's mainly a diagnostics tool providing info on the DirectX installation and any DirectX compatible devices like graphics and sound cards.
Only THING you can do in DXdiag is to turn of some DirectX features (This shouldn't be used as a permanent fix though).Hey, it worked for me. I was running win98SE and some troubleshooter told me to run dxdiag and check a whole load of settings. I checked them, set to what it said in the troubleshooter, and then it started working.
