Answer» Hello guys,
I just have my new windows 7 laptop (well actually, I have it for 2 weeks now or so) and I installed a few games and other programs on it. Suddenly, my windows 7 started to crash randomly at any moment. Even when I was only working on Microsoft Word, scrolling up or down could cause a crash. At FIRST, I thought it was cause I was running to many programs at the same time, but then it even crashed when I just wanted to make connection to the internet.
I RETURNED to the story, and they told me to try to recover the laptop, and install the programs 1 by 1 to see what could be causing this. The programs or the beautiful laptop itself?
I did the recovery, and I noticed Halo 2 was causing all these crashes. The strange thing is, it's the newest game I have, the others are way older, like AoK, Starcraft, AoM, Halo 1 and they run fine! (Except for a few graphic bugs which I have a temporarily fix for). Trying to run Halo 2 in compatibilitymode doesn't make any change. As soon as it's installed on the laptop, it causes random crashes. Result: I can't play Halo 2 anymore.
Normally, my laptop is supposed to run Halo 2 without problems, Here's the system thingies of my laptop
Hmm, looks like that is not all. here's some more:
Windows 7 home premium Model: ASUS Notebook k70AC/K51AC/K70AB/K51AB series Classification: 4.2 Windows prestation index Processor= AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-65 2.10 Ghz RAM: 4.00 System: 64 bitscontrollersystem
I'm Belgian and my laptop is in that language to, so sorry if I translated some words wrong.
Does anyone know why Halo 2 causes the crashes and what could be done about it, rather then buying a new laptop or don't play Halo 2? Cause I don't WANT either of that to happen
Thanks in advance. Baldir What is the graphics card? Also Have you tried compadability mode?
Do you think it could be a hardware issue? If so, try a program called 3dmax, or maybe rivatuner and taskmanager(on your windows) you can just google and get the free downloads for themtry compatibility mode Quote Trying to run Halo 2 in compatibilitymode doesn't make any change. So, no.
Where can I find my graphic card?
-> Video ATI Radeon HD 4570Check if you are using the right PC display COLORS, some games will crash without the right colors. Is this a legit version of Halo 2?Halo 2 is a legal version, not downloaded. And the problem is not the game, it's my laptop. I can play the game without problems, it just causes my laptop to crash at any moment possible. Even when I just scroll up in word.what does the crash look like, is it a blue screen? or does the screen simply flash white then shut off?So are you saying that having the game installed is causing your comp to crash?Yes. It only starts to crash at random times AFTER the game is installed. The game itself works fine though. If you uninstall the game do you still get the crashes?
