Answer» I've always used Firefox and when I turned on my laptop this morning, it shows me the "won't load" page. So I tried IE and it didn't load too. I RESTARTED my laptop 3 times and it still won't load. I've checked my connection, I do have internet connection as I can CONNECT to Yahoo Messenger and AIM.
So I went online using my dad's laptop and downloaded other browsers (Netscape, Flock), save the .exe file on a FLASH disk and installed it on my laptop. It still didn't work.
I checked the firewall settings and all browsers are NOT blocked.
Help! I really don't know what to do.
Thanks!Hold down your [windows key + R] to use the run command shortcut or go to your start menu and click on run. Once you use the short cut or use the run button in the start menu the run command will popup.
After you type in "cmd" with out the quotes in the in the command line and click on OK button and the CMD.exe program will open. The DOS window will pop up. At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt type ping www.yourdomainname.com and press enter. You will see some results PASS through the screen. It will tell you if there were any packets lost in the transfer (0% loss is what you want to see). It will also tell you the average speed, in milliseconds. To close the DOS window, type exit at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt and press enter.
Please tell me the results and this will tell us if you have a internet connection This is what I got:
32 bytes of data
Packets: Sent = 4, Received= 4, Lost = 0 (0% Loss)
Approximate Roundtrip Times in Milli-seconds Min=45 ms, Max = 99 ms, Avg=70ms

Appreciate it!their not set to work off line are they?Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Will it connect? If not, restart computer in Safe Mode with Networking. Try to connect from there. What Windows version?it couldnt be offline mode, because you said yahoo and aim work.. it couldnt be a offline PROXY because netscape doesnt work, try turning off the firewall for a few seconds and see if it works, expecially if you use zone alarm firewall.. you might also try clearing your temporary file folders, and what connection speed do you have?? if you are on a modem, something random like windows update might have started and slowed things down so much you cant connect.. thats what happense to me, open taskmanger and see if wuauclt.exe is running in process list, Hello Glamgal. You could try some of those advanced troubleshooting steps that Microsoft recommends to cure such issues.
