I had the opportunity to troubleshoot a Linux machine. Now, my knowledge of the OS is SOMEWHAT limited, but this was a fairly straightforward problem -- I just didn't know the exact steps for fixing it. Now, Linux's man pages are incredibly helpful, but I can't help but note that UNIX/Linux seems to work this way:

(for those who dont get it su = super user) i THINK the user ID on the root (super user) is 0
