I just installed Puppy on a computer and i am trying to get dial up working if you have any HELP that would be great.Please help guys!!!!!!Which version of Puppy?
What kind of modem?
Some of the "FREE" dial up services REQUIRE you to use special programs that only work in Windows. Took a look around and not much help on the puppy forum.
Getting Puppy on the Internet is so much easier if your connection is with a standard Network Adapter, Ethernet.
Dial up presents problems with internal modems. Too many kinds. Some are HSP, others are DSP and some are called 'Winmodems', which would make you think they only work in windows. They have different chip SETS, which means it can be harder to FIND drivers. Anyway. Puppy does a good job of trying hard. I would recommend getting a good used external modem. That way you do not need special drivers to make it work . Years ago that was all we had.Thanks I will do that.
