I have windows XP professional IE8 also Mozilla firefox &

I CANNOT GO TO CERTAIN WEBSITES


it does not allow me to go to certain websites an
error message cones on:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
what you can try
It appears you sre connected to the Internet but you might want to try
to reconnect to the Internet,
Retype the address
Go back to the previous page

Whenever I do a search, the results come up, but when I click on a link I get this message from Firefox:

Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at croozybannir.com. (THIS IS NOT THE PAGE I"M TRYING TO ACCESS - it's a random page out of nowhere)

it seems to go to this link, page, web site
and this blocks it

sigmundfSo you are SAYING you cannot go to specific websites, but otherwise your internet connection is FINE?


Try to ping a website to check that your computer's connection to the internet is able to reach google.com (google should be working) .

You will see some results pass through the screen.
What do you see? Do you see anything about a reply from and 0% packet loss and such? That should be normal. But if you're not getting that, it's weird.

Then to close the DOS window, type exit at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt and press enter.


If that's all normal, then maybe you'll want to try resetting IE or making a new firefox profile.

And lastly, if then that doesn't help, you may have a malware or something on your pc needs taken care of.

That's what I think, hopefully it'll help.

If you're still stuck, maybe someone else has a BETTER idea

I think you should check your setting from browser tools option !!Some virus MANIPULATES or hijacks the web browser causing to block websites. But please do 1st their recommendation above and post the result of your testing.If when you opened the IE page and it said IE cant display the web page,
try this;
Go to control panel, network and internet, internet options, on the internet properties windosw, youll have some options, on the first ONE that is general, you have the option to delete cookies, then go to connections, and there is an option tha said Dial up and virtual private network settings, there must not be any network, it must be empty, then pressed on the same option where u are, connections, the lan settings option and check if there is an option marked where said proxy server, there must not be any check marked, and at last optimized your browser, go to the last option advanced and click on reset,

or maybe those websites were diabled/blocked by your administrator, which contain certain words or description...
what kinda websites are you trying browse? if social then....
