Answer» Iwhen I clicked on my I.E. icon from my desktop,.. I got the following url. No, it won't change the way the web sites look O.K. Thanks for that Calum .. suppose I'd get used. Quote QuoteNo problemNo, it won't change the way the web sites look It took me a while to get used to it, but I don't use it often anyway so it doesn't really bother meby the way Calum,.. say I downloaded i.e. 7 .... and didn't like it,.. can I re-download 6 ?People on this FORUM have successfully removed IE7 and reverted to IE6. Your mileage may vary. Talisman..... You will notice that the things you are used to seeing when using IE 6 ..... may appear not to be there ........ for example : the refresh button , the history button , the back button as your used to seeing it ....... and others. These items are still there , it's just a matter of locating then. I installed it , however after several days of using it , I noted there was a little lag time when switching between pages or opening new pages ....... I also noted a slight differance in the FONTS ....... After reading other peoples comments who have tried it ..... ( the most recent IE7 ) ..... I decided to revert back to IE 6 at least for the time being. It does offer additional security protection , however the lag issue ...... I do not like ..... ( As far as I know , the test machine is free of any BUGS or pests ). I would suggest this ....go ahead and give it a try , and if your not happy with it .....revert back to IE6 ......as detailed here..... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx Go to " How to install/uninstall Internet Explorer7" dl65 thanks gang,.. and finally,.. while I make my mind up,.. I would like to update my ie6 with vital updates,.. but.. its asking me if I would like to d/load the service pack.. ..Try just using Windows Update If you can't use that, or don't want to, which service pack? IE6 SP1 is included with XP SP2no windows updates AVAILABLE.. so.. thats ok.. I will just leave it as it is... THANKS EVERYONE Remember. If at first you don't succeed,.... You'r fired :-/No problem, for whatever help I was able to provide.....Talisman Quote I would like to update my ie6 with vital updates,.. but.. its asking me if I would like to d/load the service pack.. .. When you say service pack..... are you refering to SP2 .... ? Assuming you have a legal copy of XP , you certainly want SP2 ........ as well as any other critical updates available to you . If IE 7 is included in the updates , simply remove the check mark and it won't be installed . dl65 Quote Talisman |
