and I tried installing my Collectors edition trilogy ultimate doom and it said it was corrupt or missing some exe or setup file. Now I can install it on a computer with windows xp and it works fine is there a secret to it or is there some PATCH I need?

BeeThere must be a patch required try looking for it on google, or pehaps go onto the Doom web SITE it self.... I have encountered install problems with vista - have you tried running the setup.exe from the disk direct and not USING the AUTORUN link?Some games wont work on vista.pfff... i have vista home, none of my games are compatable with it, i will be sticking with XP on my other computers for now Doom 3

All these games work superbly on Vista Home Premium 32bit. With the latest patches/drivers. I would assume most games with a (vista) patch should work. Given you have decent hardware.wait a minute ... if you are one windows vista ...

try using windows compatibility mode (see link below)

windows will try to RUN program as if you are on xp. it worked for some programs for me that do not work on vista itself.
