Answer» Hi.. My NAME is Max... and I have some problems... I recently installed Suse Linux 9.1 Personal.... and it works great but i want to install firefox...or any other program... It needs some code writing or something...(I have Kwrite on my comp) i WENT to the firfox website and i downloaded the program.. but im not sure how to do it .... Can someone give me some instructions step-by-step on how to do it... Im a newbee in Linux... I dont know anything... P.S. It would be really helpfull if you should it with pictures... but words are fine too... THANKS. (Comp Specs: P3, Asus Motherboard.. 6.4 gb harddrive.. 8mb video card W/ 3d support... 196 mb of ram.).Try running Yast2 and locating Friefox amongst the packages. Pretty sure SuSE includes a Firefox install. Did you know that version 10 is now available for download? Check out the eval. version, or try OpenSuSE.I knew that Suse Linux 10 is avilable but it takes too long for me to download it... I have cable internet and it downloads 6.7 kbps.. Thanks anyway6.7kbps? That's unaccaptable! Is that the download speed you usually get? Sheesh, that's worse than dialup! If you normally get faster dowloads, try one of the mirrors for a quicker download. Then all you need is a bit of patience. And also try my first suggestion. Firefox should be available to your existing SuSE installation through YaST, surely?6.7 kbps, I get faster speeds on near-dead torrents thank you, your provider should be ashamed.Yep thats the speed that i get.. 6.7 kbps... I download mirror that i USE i go to the Suse Linux's FTP site and i download it... and Yes my downloads are faster when i download a movie or something.... I use ClickNetwork... So.. I use Linux 9.1 Personaland it downloaded at 256 and it works great now but i wanted to download all the packages... I only have the first cd install and i need the other packages thank you... for helping... I never thought that people in this forum would be really helpfu.. thanks.. guys.......... |
