| Answer» I recently installed IE 8 Beta2 on my laptop running Vista Home Premium and I just discovered that I can't download anything. When I click "save as" it goes through the motions but nothing downloads. At first I thought it was my router firewall but I can download on Firefox with no problem. I've checked my firewall but everything looks good there. I tried to go back to IE 7 but there's no download for IE7 on Vista. Any ideas what's happening here.1. By now, you know, it's not a good idea to install any "beta" on MAIN machine, don't you?2. In Vista IE8 is not treated as a PROGRAM, but as an update. This is how you uninstall it: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/03/07/how-to-uninstall-windows-internet-explorer-8-ie8-in-vista/
After uninstall, it'll revert itself to IE7.Thanks, broni. I know that now. Fortunately, this is not my main machine. Just my laptop. Everything's working fine now. If I only could figure out how Vista handles it's files. Are there any good TUTORIALS on the Vista filing system out there?vista handles files using the very same file system as XP... do you refer instead to the DIFFERENCES in the Vista Shell?SuperDave
If you have any particular question, you know where to ask. We'll be GLAD to help Thanks, I'll just have to buckle down and spend more time trying to figure out Vista. The trouble is I'm spending most of my time on my Malware course at MRU.
