As soon as you see the blue WELCOME screen, hold down the LEFT CTRL key on the keyboard. Continue to hold it down until Windows finishes LOADING and the cursor changes from an hourglass to an arrow (this may take a minute or two). This will prevent any programs from loading and give you a semi-clean boot. If your Anti Virus application did load, disable it temporarily (or shut it down). 3) Go to where you saved the IE8 download, right-click on it and choose "run as administrator". Let IE8 install and when it's FINISHED reboot. Let's see if that works for you.Allan, My wife doesn't care if she has IE8, since she uses firefox and wants me to leave her computer alone. Okay, so if I understand correctly you now have IE7 installed and working properly, is that correct? If so, let's do this:
