Answer» IE 7 has suddenly started to come up with the message "Internet Explorer cannot display web page" I have no problems with Firefox and Outlook Express works correctly.
I have used the CONNECTION diagnostic which indicates no problems and have deleted all files in the cache. I have tried to follow the instructions on the MICROSOFT site but STILL come up with the same result.
I am using Windows XP pro.
I suspect I have done something stupid but have no idea what, I don't think I have installed any new software and am at a complete loss.
Any suggestions PLEASE?
Did you try to reset/reinstall IE?Yes. But I don't seem to be able to do a full reinstall whenever I try I just seem to get a run of updates. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378 Scroll down to IE7I had tried everything in that KB article without success. It looks as if I am going to have to do a reinstall of Windows XP which is what I was dreading.
Past experience tells me I shall have all sorts of problems with software reactivations etc.Well, if you don't want to go through all that pain, just USE Firefox, or Opera. I don't use IE at all.Cracked it! Something had changed my Firewall settings. Nice going
