Solve : IE has encountered a problem...?

Answer»

Will be in the middle of something and "IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" pops up. It has given reasons ranging from a device manger to IE itself. I have run virus scans and found NOTHING. After GETTING really irritated, I downloaded Firefox and it has started doing the same thing. I am running Windows XP Home and have all the updates. I did not think I would have the same problem with Firefox. You said that you scanned for viruses, but what about Spyware?

[glb]Flame[/glb]I have scanned for everything. If it finds spyware I delete it. The problem still exists. How long has this been happening? Did you make any changes to your system at all before this happened?

[glb]Flame[/glb]It started about a week AGO. No, I have not made any changes to my system. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=293623Thanks. Went to the site and found that it was a program loaded on my PC (MORPHEUS). I took it off and cleaned my system and it now seems to be fixed.I'll let you know if I encounter it again.

Do not bother with Peer 2 Peer programs as the MAJORITY of them seem to contain spyware.
