Solve : IE7 error: Error on page?

Answer»

IE7 will not play a flash video from http://www.star-telegram.com/multimedia/. IE7 has a little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark at lower left corner and it says "Error on page". I have read the Q&A Number CH001032 and it says what causes this. However, I have tried Firefox on the same computer at the same url and it plays the flash video. What I need to know is how to make IE7 play the video. My Flash Player is version WIN 9.0.124.0. I am running Windows XP Professional.
Try and download Flash Player for IE from the Adobe website:

The problem is not with Flash Player because I can go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ and Flash plays on Internet Explorer. The problem has something to do with IE 7, because it displays the "Error on page".Will Firefox work OK?Yes, Firefox works but IE7 does not. IE7 says "Error on page" while viewing http://www.star-telegram.com/multimedia/.Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>SYSTEM Tools, click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
Same thing? Thanks - I tried the no add-ons routine - still "error on page"

If you didn't install Service Pack 3, yet, uninstall IE7 through Add\Remove. It'll revert to IE6. See, if that works.I uninstalled Service Pack 3 and rebooted, thenchecked- same problem. I then uninstalled IE7 and rebooted. I still have the same problem with IE6.
I have written to the Star Telegram and told them of my problem but have not received a reply.
Have you tried accessing http://www.star-telegram.com/multimedia/? Don't you get the error?

This is WEIRD. It plays fine here in IE, and Firefox. Do you have Flash problem on any other pages?Just for kicks and giggles...

Do you have the pop-up blocker enabled with the IE7 browser? If so...try turning it off and viewing the page again.

Just call it a hunch...

It may work...it may not.I tried to reinstall IE7 and it would not reinstall. I then tried to reinstall Service Pack 3 and it would not reinstall. I finally used the "Reset the registry and the file permissions" method at "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377#top and then was able to reload both Service Pack 3 and IE7. Still have the "error on page' problem with that one site. I am sure I have had this problem with other SITES before. But now I can go to several sites and Flash plays with IE7. I can't figure out why IE7 plays on many sites for me EXCEPT that one site but IE7 plays on that site for Broni. In addition Firefox plays the video on that site for me. I guess that I will have to give up.

Thanks for the help.
That's why many people stay away from IE.
