|
Answer» something about my browser settings won't allow me to be automatically redirected?? What does that mean?? When I log in to EBAY I put in my name and password and hit submit and then I have to click on a url to go to my ebay it won't automatically go there. It gives me that error message instead. I also can get into my yahoo mail but I can't delete it... It won't let me?? What's going on?? All I did was download a JAVA update. ' It gives me that error message insteadWhat does it say? Here's the entire messsage.... If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you from automatically redirecting to a new URL. Please click here to continue. I've never gotten this message before. Thanks! AmandaIn IE go Tools>Internet Options, Security tab. Set slider to "MEDIUM-High".I tried that and it didn't help. I also called my internet provider. The Tech guy walked me through a few things and they didn't help either. He says something is wrong with either my IE program or my pc itself. Since I've already scanned for spyware and VIRUSES and no viruses were found and spyware was removed what else could be causing this??? Should I just give up and reformat?? Would it help to use one of those registry cleaner programs?? I mean could my registry be messed up somehow?? Thanks! It's always time to reformat, and leave those registry cleaners alone, for now. What Windows version, and what IE version are you using?I have Windows XP and IE 7. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! In IE, go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab. Click on "Reset" button. That didn't work either. AmandaCouple of other things to try.... I assume, you can go to some web pages, but not secure ones, like E-Bay, right? Go Tools>Internet Options>General, and delete Temp files. Go Tools>Internet Options>Security tab. Scroll down to "Scripting". You'll see 5 subdirectories. Make sure, that "ticks" are set as follows: - Enable - Prompt - Disable - Disable - EnableCorrect. It's the secure sites that I'm having trouble with. I deleted my temp files and my settings were already set to what you posted above. Anything else you can think of?? This is so ODD. I mean it was working just fine and then did this suddenly yesterday. Thanks!OK, next... Two things: 1. In IE go Tools>Internet Options, Security tab. Set slider even lower to "Medium". 2. If that doesn't help, download, and install FIREFOX: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ This way, we'll know, if it's IE problem, or something else. Anyway, it's always a good idea to have two browsers installed. Okay my IE still isn't working right however, the Mozilla Firefox does work it's just slow. AmandaI'd like to take a look at your HijackThis log. Download it from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5554.html, and post its log at "Computer Viruses and Spyware". |
