Answer» HI,
This is my first post and I hope I can get some help.
First of all, I can generally get on the internet & Email, but after about 10-15~ minutes I lose connectivity. I then have to do one of the following: 1.) restart the computer (sometimes this works) 2.) reset my IP on command prompt (generally this works) but again, after several minutes, I lose connectivity.
What's been done: I contacted my ISP (I have a DSL line), they checked out everything and everything on their end is OK, however, for customer satisfaction, they replaced my modem with a brand new one, as of yesterday, but, alas, I continue to have the same problem. Before the ORIGINAL installation of the DSL, I had my house rewired, so everything up to the computer is OK.
I have a Dell XPS-600 about 4 years old Windows XP Service pack 3 (I use auto UPDATES) Dual processor, Pentium D 3 G Hz 2 Gig Ram 250 Gig HD I believe all my DRIVERS are current and up to date.
Any suggestions, short of buying a new computer WOULD be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
KapSixDid this just start or has it always been this way? Try a "clean boot" (msconfig - selective startup - uncheck everything). Does it still happen?Allen,
Thanks for the speedy reply, the only thing I have on selective start up is my virus suite. I have always been running my comp that way and yes it continues to happen.

Do you have DSL filters on ALL phone lines ? ? I'll bet the phone is ringing when this happens...
