  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in Notepad.
  • Click on Edit > Select All then click on Edit > Copy to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or required by the system.

Have you installed anything recently?no nothing do you think it might be a bad video card or just my computer just frikin old it is about 10 years old but in those 10 years it was great no problems Well, maybe not. Did the reformat go smoothly?

Try something.... Go to Start Menu > Internet Explorer (no add-ons).

Any better, speed wise?Also....
Did you try Firefox?
What type of connection is it?
See, if same thing happens in Safe Mode with Networking.hi the the connection is dsl 546 i tried in safe mode and its actually faster and theres no errors why is that.I suspect Norton, but...

Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ca.firefox.yahoo.com.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

i hit try again and nothing let me know if you have any ideas thanks

Uninstall Norton, using this tool: http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Since you did your computer a big favor by dumping Norton, you need some new protection.
