Solve : Internet explore 6.01 not responsive to www. ????

Answer»

Every time I use my laptop away from my docking station, internet explore will not RECOGNIZE the “WWW” in from of a web address. I have to use http:// to access any websites. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
I don't have to use EITHER of those   :omethods/restrictions. Have you monkeyed with your settings somehow? No I have not play with any of the settings, it’s actually a very weird problem. When my IBM R51 is docked in my home docking station, the problem doesn’t exist. But when I’m in ANY other network (i.e. t-mobile wireless) WINDOWS just takes forever if you type in a normal address of www.microsoft.com. You actually have to use http://microsoft.com to get an immediate response from IE. However if I use firebox, these problems don’t occur at all. I would stick with fire fox but several websites I visit frequently are activeX dependent and the pages don’t show up properly in fire fox.

Strange problem Huu? I have even tried to reset IE to its default settings with no luck.

Sounds like time to scan for adware/spyware and virii. What are you using? Since you visit a lot of Active X sites, you are asking for surprises.Google for "proxy SERVER cache"

Take a look at this.
