Solve : Internet Explorer does not appear to fully work?

Answer»

I.E does not show all buttons on my home PC for some web sites and some buttons do not have any effect when clicked - is this a VIRUS, java script or security issue?  All suggestions welcomed - ThanksWhat version of IE is this?
What happened before this started?
What protection do you have?
What OS?
And what sites does this happen on?Sorry - first time I have used this.

Running Windows XP
I.E ver 6
Symantec anti virus
Happens mostly on secure sites (e bay/banking etc) and some HOLIDAY searches and shopping engines.  Also have problems running any type of video.
No significant happening before the event!!
"...this a virus, java script or security issue?"

Run a virus scan with updated files from Norton / CHECKED Internet Options/Security for settings there / added problem sites to Trusted sites / checked your security LEVELS on the same tab / running 128-bit Cypher-strength on IE6?

Actually, I'd give this a try with AVG Free instead.

Also...does this happen with other browsers such as Firefox, or is it limited to IE?
Does your XP have Service Pack 2 installed?I couldn't get AVG free to download - any clues?
SP2 not installed.I have LOOKED at all of the security settings and cannot see a problem there at all.  I am not sure what the 128 bit cypher strength statement is about - could you explain please?  Thanks for your help! You do not have SP2 installed? Why not?

You do not have an antivirus, and perhaps antispyware installed? If not why? If so, which ones?

Do you have a real Windows CD that says Microsoft all over it?No SP2
No AV
No Anti-spyware

This equals a train wreck waiting to happen ...if it hasn't already.

MarkyMark how long have you had a computer ? ? ?Markymark (where's Funky Bunch?!), you very likely have an infection.  Download HijackThis and post a log over on the Virus forum.
