Solve : ip address was changed and I can't change it back? |
|
Answer» When I used to go to my computer to do a search on Google, the address was 127.0.0.1 and the bottom right corner said internet. I was searching the internet and my desktop. I discovered, quite by accident, as I have no computer experience, that my husband was doing an awful LOT of browsing of porn SITES. I didn't say anything for awhile but set the preferences was up on Google to find everything possible. I came home one day and he told me that he had to erase the computer becasue it wasn't working. I found a away around that and set up Google again. The results were far less expansive. Then, I noticed that instead of the address being 127.0.0.1 and browsing the internet, I noticed that he had changed the address to localhost4664. This kept me going in circles in GOogle and I can't get rid of it. I have replaced Google but need to change the address BACK. ...As to the other things, unplug the computer and throw it away... While you're at it, throw him away, too. Or maybe you both should schedule an appointment with Dr. Phil. localhost4664 is the same as 127.0.0.1 because if you had looked further down that list of numbers it would have looked a little something like this.....http://127.0.0.1:4664/&s=221665810&q=......which is mine....notice the 4664 after the 127.0.0.1. So your husband is the webmaster of a pornsite, I'm thinking, according to your post, and you want to be able to do what exactly, read a customer list in another language? If so download a character map for some other languages and you can copy and paste it into google actually and use their translation tool, but I don't see the good in that, besides the fact that you'll know some peoples names. Also this MIGHT not work, as you might just be looking at encrypted files, and would need the programs that he encrypted them with to unlock them. But I agree w/ the other replies to, see a therapist if this is a big problem for you.Lisa Kunz.....I really don't think that the solution to the issue will be found here . It sounds to me like you should be talking about the issue with your husband or as Computer_Commando suggests .......Dr. Phil As far as his homepage ( his porn site) .....keep checking the history folder ......at some point he may forget to erase the contents and you may find it there . dl65 |
