Solve : Lagging in Oblivion, hellgate and Cod4, Please help?!?!?? |
|
Answer» HEY there, On call of duty 4, My ping starts out at 80-110 and fps hovers from 20-80 but after a few rounds it all goes bad my fps can reach as low as 2 and my ping skyrockets to about 300ish up and down, my game laggs so much i have to Alt-tab and it laggs for bout 5 minutes by then im disconnected from server. Aswell in Hellgate: London and oblivion this happens, at the start of game its alrite then after about 5-10 minutes the lag hits hard. My specs are Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz 1.83 GHz. 2 GB of RAM NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M GeForce Go7400 512 MB Im doing to check if my drivers are update, But what else could be causing this? I know i could get another computer but at the moment i cant, But it runs fine at start then goes bad Please help? Thanks! im guessing, judging by your CPU, that this is a laptop? all those games are graphic intense, are your graphics set to low? Yes its a laptop, And all my things are on low and i have nothing on that dosnt need to be on, My resolution is the lowwest and vsync and that is off too Also i forgot to mention Normally when the lag begins or is in the middle of lagging my screen flashs a few timesmy guess is that it might be overheating. i know some graphic cards underclock themselves when their temperatures rise too high. what is your CPU and GPU temp?I was just looking at my GPU thats is 63ish, how do i look at my cpu? And yes it most properly is as i have had my comp on for most of the dayFor a start, your graphics card is very low-end. It won't run modern games at decent settings. As for the ping, are you connected to the internet wirelessly or with a cable?Wireless, We have dsl. And two people use the same wirelessThat is the cause of your high latency. If you can get a wired connection, e.g. an Ethernet cable to your router/modem/other device you use to connect, I would advise doing so. I've been through the same issue, I had up to 500 latency. Now I'm on wired, it's much better, around 50. As for the FPS issues, my guess would be overheating too. How old is this laptop? Its a few years old, Not too sure around 2-3 years oldOk so i was playing Cod4 just today, Just when i turned my computer on. It was running fine, Started to get real bad i minimized it and when to task manager then process's and saw that "rundll32.exe" was taking up 40 percent of my cpu aswell as Cod4 taking up the rest nearly. I have two of rundll32.exe's in my processes tab. If i can stop it lagging as much how? If its something else what is it? Thanks Blow the vents out with some compressed air, if you don't have any then just blow hard into them. Hold the fans still with a COTTON bud or similar so they don't spin like mad and break while you do this. Should help if the issue is overheating. |
