What are the pros and CONS of Linux to say... Windows XP?You posted that you were looking for a gaming machine. Stick to Windows if that is your purpose. Period.

I use Linux on a daily basis. It's great for everything except gaming (and some do work OK with some emulators, etc.) I don't have to worry about syware/adware/virusses. My computer always works as it is supposed too and there are no SURPRISES. Ever. I am in complete control of what RUNS and how. Networking is no problem.

But I am not a GAMER. Sounds like you are.
