Answer» I have just downloaded ubuntu, in order to get my files of off my laptop that will not boot. The ubuntu CD is WORKING fine but it has COME up with a log in screen for which i have no password? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD#Using%20your%20LiveCD in the link above it suggests you just press enter or wait for the screen to time out i have tried pressing enter but it just says authentication failed. i never entered a password or USER i just put the CD into y computer and it automatically loaded anyone have any ideas?Reboot and try again. You can just hit enter or I think if you wait 10 seconds it performs AUTOMATIC log in. It is meant to work that way. Post back if you still have PROBLEMS.
