Solve : Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring?

Answer»

I am really losing my patience, and my sanity. I really hope somebody can help me out with this, I've registered on about 4 forums without GETTING answers. And one site wanted to charge me for the answer. (Yeah, I cussed out my computer after I saw that.)

I am trying to play this game on the following specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 ~2.2 GHz
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 6600 256 MB RAM
Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 200 GB total, appx. 163 GB free
CD-ROM drive: DVD R/RW
All my specs pass the program test with flying colors. But when I try to load the game, it gets stuck on a black screen. It never moves.

Now, I found that this is a PROBLEM with GeForce 6XYZ and above. This leaves me kinda strapped, because I can't afford to upgrade my $170 video card. I've heard people say they have fixes, but they have yet to work for me. I've tried updating my video drivers to the very HIGHEST possible. I've tried adjusting my monitor refrest rate. I've tried disabling the SOUND system I don't use anymore. I've patched the game.

I really hope SOMEONE here knows about this game and can help me out. I've been searching the Web to no avail.Which operating system are you using?

FlameTry:

  • Patch game
  • Update chipset/audio drivers
  • reinstall game
Brought to you by Raptor

FlameI would try a previous driver as well. The latest is not the latest and greatest for everyone. They're just the latest.Quote

XP SP2. The same as on my previous compy, which played the game no problems. (Well, unless you count crappy framerate)

I had (and will reinstall) 66.81 drivers as a fix for another game of mine. It had crappy framerate in one spot, just one area. But it made the game unplayable. The driver made it possible to survive in that game.Let us know how it goes.

Set graphic to low - that happen when i try to play diablo 2 in 3D setting but it will not work_it will only work when is set to 2D

Do this (it might work ) but i dont know how are you going to set the resolution down but there might be an option in c:/ ect

as Diablo has the same structure as LOTRI have res at minimum. (There's a config program) Everything is disabled, but no go. :-/Give the computer the old boot (as in your shoe) Quote
