Solve : Mail client from IE 6.0?

Answer»

The only choice listed in internet options is Hotmail as a mail client for IE 6.0. I don`t use Hotmail but want to use my OutLook Express to send mail, links etc directly out of IE. How do I go about getting the Outlook to appear as an option under tools, internet options, connections from the IE toolbar? Before with my old Win98se program it was automatically there.skylane42..... If you go up to the tools button ( up top ) and select mail and news......... you should have the following options .... "read mail", "New message" , "Send a link" and "send page". If you choose any of these items , Outlook Express will open for you .
Hope this helps you .

dl65 OK .. did that and it OPENED my AOL. How do I switch it to Outlook? But it only opened AOL with read news.. the other options did nothing.skylane42.... hummmmm ....lets try this ..... open your Internet Explorer , then click tools /Internet options ...... then the program tab ...then make sure you see Outlook express in the E mail box....... like the screen shot I have posted .....

dl65 Refering to your screen shot... where you do have outlook listed I do not. The only program that is displayed in the PULL down is hotmail. Are you actuallly using Outlook Express now for email? Is Outlook Express on your Programs MENU?I am using Outlook now for my mail and it is working. It does appear in the program folder, just the shortcut on my desktop, not in START menu. My Outlook was missing but I got it back by checking the box next to in in windows components. You mean Outlook Express, right? Outlook and Outlook Express are two different things. What you enabled via Add/Remove Windows Components is Outlook Express, not Outlook.Yep, as indicated in the previous post, OutLook Express.. I just used Outlook as a shortcut.. sorry if it confused.Better to use OE as a shortcut for Outlook Express. That avoids any confusion.
