Solve : Microsoft Internet Explorer Favorites?

I have lost my favorites in microsoft INTERNET explorer.
When trying to add favorites nothing happens.
when trying to create a new folder I get this MESSAGE:
ERROR 306
unspecfied error
I am using windows XP professional.
