Answer» I am accessing web sites and can see some pictures but not others on the same page. The ones I can't see come up with an X ina box. The pictures are not likely to be pornographic or anything like that and I'm sure my firewall isn't blocking them.
Any ideas? You have a firewall that blocks pornographic content? Smart firewall. I wonder if it gets aroused.
I don't think you should be using the Internet when you're not sure what you're LOOKING at.
Set the advanced options of IE back to default or tag the 'show media/pictures' option or whatever its named. What type of pictures are they [likely to be]? If they are advertisements, it MAY be your hosts file blocking them.
with regardsReceiving some, but not all pics can be caused by several things:
- the unreceived pics may not be there. Try several different sites. Are the missing pics always the same or do they change. Refresh the page several times.
- your browser could be TIMING out due to a slow or erratic connection.
- you may not have enough room in your temporary internet folder(s). Is your C: drive nearly full?
- you could have a browser problem. Is it up to date? Have you tried another browser?
DellAre you on dialup or cable modem?

Just expanding on that - even though I don't think this will definately be the case - you may need to clear your internet cache. In IE (or at LEAST the version I'm using), you have to click on TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS and then click on DELETE TOOLS under "Temporary Internet Files."
