Solve : Netgear Wireless modem DG834G?

Answer»

Hi, ok well i bought this modem and had it all SET up. But it randomly CUTS me off Aol and I E. In the toolbar the two signs that represent the wireless are reporting it all disconnected. But i KNOW its not, the router has power in and is giving out all the right lights. So then i have to restart my PC to reconnect. It is SOOOO random, it can take anything from 2 miniuts to two hours to die on me... Any respnse or help would be VERY APPRECIATED. ThanksI had this problem once... I want you to do this for me... Turn off your computer(s), and then unplug the power cord from the modem... Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds or more... Next, restore power BACK to the modem, and let it just sit there for about one mnute... next, power back on your computer(s)... Does this help?

[glb]Flame[/glb]where is the modem located........on the wall....where..... is it networked// is the firewall settings adjusted properly//maybe an outside source is scanning you.......check you events log//or firewall logs.....Ok sorry for late reponse.. Well the wireless adapter to my computer is via a PCI slot. However my dsl modem is a USB connection. My router is placed near the wall. However i am at the end of my street so it wouldnt be possilbe for someone at the side it is palced to interfeare with it. My nabours on the left however dont even have a pc so i doubt that is confliscting. One idea i did think could be occuring was that out wireless fones or mobile phones could be interupting the signals. But i placed both home and mobile phones next to the router and called them, i did this 3 times but nothing occured. I am using windows firewall but i dont think that is conflicting. When i set up the wireless through AOL i disconnect the DSL modem whilst having wireless on and AOL detects it as just another "High-Speed" connection.. I do however have sky didgital, (not sure if you will know what that means if you are American) but merlin you might if you are from London as it says under your picture. But im not sure if this is conflicting. I have tried messing around with the micro-filters but to no sucess.. Please reply all help is VERY appreccaited!!try moving it from the wall......try netstat.< the net cmd>.....or ping in the cmd prompt.....like ping www.bbc.co.uk it should display packets sent packets losed >do a speedtest....www.adslguide.org.....it maybe spyware that also cause it.
run a scan >> i doubt if sky would interfere with it.....also check your other conections///router .......
