Answer» HI, i am having a trouble playing a LAN game in Command and CONQUER: Renengade by EA...when i press the button "MULTIPLAYER LAN" in the in-game main menu, the following message appear"NO LAN ip addresses found" and then it returns to the main menu?? the operating system on both computers(mine and the other PC i am trying to be connected to)is Windows XP Professional...how can i host a LAN game in Renegade on XP?? thanksDid you set one PC to host the game? You may need special SOFTWARE to create a server. I suggest you refer to the manual or the EA website.are you running a firewall?the manual says that all that i have to do is to go to multiplayer LAN and press then i will be in the lobby..it doesn't mention anothing even about a dedicated server or something... i don't know if i have a firewall..how can i know if i have one??If you have Windows XP SP2 and you donot know if you have a firewall, then you now most likely do. TURN it off by going to Start -> Settings -> Configuration screen -> Windows Firewall. (SP2 only) Software firewalls are easily identified, check your system tray. Your Router may also function as a firewall.i have xp professional not SV2 .. XP Home or Professional, both can be upgraded to SP2.i didn't upgrade my XP Professional edition from the internet...so i guess that i don't have SP2... |
