I've been a regular at smelly-cat.org for years, but now the website won't load for me. Firefox gives me a blank page and IE gives me the typical "cannot display the webpage." It's been 3-4 days. I haven't experienced this problem with another website. I've cleared my cookies, deleted temporary internet files, RESTARTED the computer and made sure the site is up through downforeveryoneorjustme.com.

I recently switched from BitDefender Total Security to the free version of AVG. I believe - though I'm not entirely sure - the website stopped working when I uninstalled BitDefender. I am running Windows XP, I don't recall making any other significant changes to the computer and I've recently scanned the computer for viruses with BitDefender, then AVG and Spybot Search & Destroy. I am not sure what to do next.

Help would be very appreciated.Here is something simple.
You know how to change you DNS to a STATIC IP, right?

Open DNS nameservers are:
208.67.222.222
and
208.67.220.220

Se if that makes a difference.
If they block a site, there is a reason
http://www.opendns.com/

Or. you can use a proxy server
Google free proxy server

Try going to command prompt (Start > Run > "cmd"), and type:
ping smelly-cat.org

If you get a response, then it's your computer that has the problem. If not, then it's the website's problem.
