Solve : Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 127.0.0.1:4664?!!?

Answer»

Hi, Im in need of help -Ive spent the last 12 HOURS trying to fix this and nothing Ive tried has worked. My problems started when I INADVERTENTLY downloaded Bing (through DivX I think?). Ive managed to get rid of (expletives required) "Bing" but now I receive the above MESSAGE whenever I do an 'address line search' or highlight text and right click 'Search Google....."
....Ive just noticed that when I highlight text and right-click, the option is to "Search Google Desktop for 'XXXX'" -is the fact its Desktop and not just Google the problem?

I read elsewhere it MIGHT be something to do with my Anti-virus and the Host file?

-please help, this is driving me insane...**Update**

Ive found a fix for this: once 'Conduit engine' (and Bing) have been deleted -go into Google settings (the icon on the top right)> 'Advanced Settings'>  'Reset browser settings'

note: this will delete stored passwords (but will remedy the problem).

Conduit Engine means you were infected...
Had nothing to do with BING.

Good yer FIXED up though.
