Solve : Open a pdf file within IE6, with Foxit instead of Acrobat?

Answer»

My IE6 opens pdf files in Adobe ACROBAT, which is slow to start. I would like instead to open them by default with Foxit Reader, but I don't find a way. I can only disable the Acrobat add-on in IE, and the result is that the pdf files don't open at all. Is there a solution? If you disable the IE addon you should just get the usual download or run dialog box. Do you see this? Why are you STILL using IE6? Why haven't you updated IE to version 7 or 8?

What version Foxit Reader do you have?

What service pack do you have installed for Windows XP? I suspect you're out of date in that AREA, too.uninstall adobe acrobat reader completely, uninstall foxit reader completely, then reinstall foxit reader. start there and also update your computer so you don't have problems doing things when you can't do SOMETHING 'cuz your using outdated stuff.Quote from: soybean on July 09, 2010, 04:32:02 AM

I totally agree, I use Firefox most of the time but I still keep IE up to date with the latest version, just in CASE I need it for some reason.
